The administrative capital of Port Blair is the only noticeable town on the islands. The lively Aberdeen Bazaar lies at the heart of the town and is constructed entirely of wood. Despite being razed to the ground several times in the past, it has bounced back within no time and is as full of odds and ends as before.

	CELLULAR JAIL - NATIONAL MEMORIAL The Cellular Jail is a major attraction for tourists. Now overrun with plants and moss, it is a memorial to the freedom fighters who martyred their lives for the country’s independence. The library here has interesting books on the indigenous tribes of the island.

	LIGHT & SOUND SHOW The saga of the heroic freedom struggle is brought alive in a moving Sound & light show. The show is conducted every evening in the premises of cellular jail which gives us a brief idea about the happenings in the jail prior to the independence.

	CHATHAM SAW MILL PIt has a Saw Mill lying on the tiny island connected by a bridge over a stretch of sea-water. This Saw Mill is one of the biggest and oldest in Asia. The main mainland -Island harbour is also here. The other harbour is Haddo, which is nearby.

	THE ANTHROPOLOGICAL MUSEUM The Anthropological Museumat Haddo in north Port Blair, was set up in 1975. It displays tribal essentials and artifacts such as boats, weapons, baskets, clothing, photographs, models and records of exploratory expeditions undertaken over the years. A well-stocked library provides the scholar with invaluable references to tribal culture.

	SAMUDRIKA- MARINE MUSEUM The Marine Museum is an interesting place that covers the history and geography of the islands. The Fisheries Museum on the other hand displays the rich marine life of the Andaman Sea. The Anthropological Museum exhibits some tools, dresses and photos.

	MOUNT HARRIET. The summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during British Raj, this place is an ideal for a nice and fascinating over view of the outer islands and the sea. It is the highest peak in the South Andamans (365 metres high). One can trek upto Madhuban through a nature trail and can find rare endemic birds, animals and butterflies. Conducted tours to Mount Harriet are available from Andaman Teal House.
